Edith Cowan University Law School
Edith Cowan University (ECU) offers undergraduate and postgraduate law degrees through the School of Business and Law at their Joondalup Campus or online. Â
ECU Law School Entry Requirements
If you’re a high school leaver or haven’t been to university before, an undergraduate Bachelor of Laws is for you. University graduates can study a postgraduate Juris Doctor degree. To learn more about the different types of law degrees, see our Law Degrees Explained page.
Year 12 EntryÂ
High school leavers can apply through TISC to study a 4-year Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a 4-year Bachelor of Criminology and Justice, or a 5-year Combined Bachelor of Laws with majors from Criminology, Commerce, Engineering, Psychology and more.Â
High school leavers are assessed based on their ATAR. The 2021 ATAR cut off for both the single and double degrees was 85.Â
Recent graduates & Mature Age
Applicants with higher degrees can apply directly with ECU for a 3-year Bachelor of Laws (Graduate Entry) and are assessed based on their GPA in their previous degree(s).Â
Under the Experience Based Entry Scheme, mature age students can apply to study a Bachelor of Laws by applying directly with ECU.Â
Alternative entry
There are a few pathways for First Nations students:
- Aboriginal University Readiness Assessment (AURA) involves a self-assessment of skills, knowledge and lifestyle to determine the best pathway into ECU.Â
- UniPrep is a bridging course designed to prepare students for university. Upon successful completion, students can apply for a range of different undergraduate degrees.Â
To learn more about either of these pathway options, contact ECU at kk@ecu.edu.au.Â
Masters of Laws (Research)
Students can apply to study a 2-year Masters of Laws (Research) directly with ECU.Â
All applicants should have a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 or higher in their Bachelor of Laws degree.
Applicants with a WAM of less than 70 can contact the Course Coordinator before applying for the course.Â
