Flinders University offers undergraduate and postgraduate law degrees through the College of Business, Government and Law at their Bedford Park campus and online.Â
Flinders Law School Entry Requirements
If you’re a high school leaver or haven’t been to university before, an undergraduate Bachelor of Laws is for you. University graduates can study a postgraduate Juris Doctor degree. To learn more about the different types of law degrees, see our Law Degrees Explained page.
Year 12 EntryÂ
High school leavers can apply through SATAC to study a 4-year Bachelor of Laws (Honours), a 4-year Bachelor of Laws and Legal Practice or a 5-year Combined Bachelor of Laws with majors from Arts, Accounting, Business, Finance, Criminology Social Sciences or Science faculties.Â
High school leavers are assessed based on their ATAR. The 2021 ATAR cut off for the single and double degrees were 95.Â
Recent graduates & Mature Age
Applicants with higher degrees can apply via SATAC and are assessed based on their GPA.Â
Under the Adult Entry program, mature age students can apply to study a Bachelor of Laws by applying to SATAC.Â
Alternative entry
The Indigenous Admission Scheme provides an alternative pathway for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
You can apply for the scheme through SATAC.
The Foundation Studies is another pathway open to people of all backgrounds. It is a 4-month program to prepare students for university and to gain entry into an undergraduate degree.
Juris Doctor (JD)
University graduates can apply for a 3-year Juris Doctor at Flinders Law School through SATAC. Applications are assessed based on students’ performance in their undergraduate degree(s).Â
There is not an alternative entry program for First Nations students.
Masters of Laws (International Law and International Relations) Postgraduate degreeÂ
This research program is delivered online for a duration of either 1.5 years (full-time) or 2 years (full-time).Â
Applicants of the 1.5-year Masters option should hold an approved Bachelor degree and 2 years of professional experience in law, international relations or related area. If applicants do not have 2 years of professional experience, they can apply for the 2-year Masters.Â
Students can apply through SATAC.Â
Studying law at Flinders
Flinders operates on a two semester calendar. A full-time study load is 8 subjects per year. Students can also enrol in a part time study load, which is 4 subjects per year.Â
