Murdoch University Law School
Murdoch University Law School
Murdoch University (MU) offers undergraduate and postgraduate law degrees through the School of Law at their Perth campus.
MU Law School Entry Requirements
If you’re a high school leaver or haven’t been to university before, an undergraduate Bachelor of Laws is for you. University graduates can study a postgraduate Juris Doctor degree. To learn more about the different types of law degrees, see our Law Degrees Explained page.
Year 12 EntryÂ
High school leavers can apply through TISC or directly with MU to study a 4-year Bachelor of Laws (Honours) or a Combined Bachelor of Laws with majors from Arts, Communication, Criminology, Science, Psychology and more.
High school leavers are assessed based on their ATAR. The 2021 ATAR cut off for both the single and combined degrees was 90.
Recent graduates & Mature Age
Applicants with higher degrees can apply for a Bachelor of Laws directly with MU. Applicants should have a Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 70 in their previous degree(s).
Mature age students can apply directly with MU through the Murdoch’s Mature Age Pathway (MAP) or by sitting the Special Tertiary Admission Test.Â
Alternative entry
The Pre-Law program is an alternative entry program which involves a 6-week online intensive course. If students achieve a 60% or above, they could qualify for admission into the Bachelor of Laws.Â
The OnTrack pathway is a free 14-week university enabling course that qualifies studies to apply directly for any undergraduate degree with a Selection Rank of 70.Â
FlexiTrack is another online free enabling course that qualifies studies to apply directly for any undergraduate degree with a Selection Rank of 70.Â
Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice
Students can apply for a 1-year Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice after successful completion of a Bachelor of Laws (LLB). This practical course is not a substitute for PLT.
Students should apply directly with MU.Â
Masters of CriminologyÂ
Students can apply for a 2-year Masters of Criminology directly through MU.Â
