Giles Gunesekera OAM

Giles became Executive Officer (Growth and Engagement) of Ngalaya in April 2023. He is a Sri Lankan man, born in New Zealand, raised in Melbourne, and living in Sydney for over a decade.

Giles is the Founder and CEO of Global Impact Initiative and has over 25 years’ experience of building and

developing businesses for global organisations.

In January 2023, Giles was awarded an Order of Australia medal (OAM) for his service to social welfare and

to the community. He holds numerous Volunteer Not-for-Profit Directorships ranging from International

Aid, Human Rights, Climate Action, Disabilities, Education, Arts and Sports.

Giles is passionate about First Nations justice, and is excited to build Ngalaya's capacity as an organisation as we continue to grow the next generation of First Nations law-makers.
