Ngalaya receives $20,000 Youth Action Project Grant

Ngalaya Indigenous Corporation has been awarded a $20,000 grant through the Foundation for Young Australians and Australian Department of Health’s Youth Action Project Grant Scheme.

This funding is supporting Ngalaya’s First Nations legal career pathways project, which will:

  • develop resources targeted at First Nations young people to guide them through the risks, rewards, deadlines and challenges of pursuing a career in the law

  • support prospective First Nations law students through access to one-on-one advice and support

  • pursue a new survey of current First Nations law students to identify their current employment and academic needs and challenges

Ngalaya’s Executive Director, Jason O’Neil, said “we are excited to have this opportunity to employ some First Nations students to work with us to deliver this project as we seek to grow the next generation of First Nation lawmakers.”
